It's not a problem, springs wear out from repeated use, not single compression.

I never have thought it was a problem and all my carry/practice mags that have not been welled up stay topped off too.

It seems to be a subject like calibers though, everyone has an opinion. My practice mags don't fail so I see no reason why the carry ones would.
