If the tragedy at Newton had happened before the election, would the Liberals have the exact same stand? Would we have a different Washington now?

I think that most of the liberals would still take the same stand however I think it would have woken up and changed things with the undecided voters and would have changed the minds of some of the Pro-gun liberals which may have changed the outcome of the election.
