Does anybody know what kind of 7.62 x 54 ammo this is?

    My Googlefu found the following:

    Albanian 7.62

The 3/1 powder is an Albanian made nitrocellulose type specific for this Model 53 cartridge. Its designation indicates a tubular grain having a 0.3 mm perforation. The T = Brass Case, Zak = This is the bullet type, indicating a light steel core ball (LPS type).

That's all I could find. The pages I found the info on had cans with very similar if not the same markings as yours.

    Thank you for this info.
I did searches, but all I found was this picture that looks just like the faded printing on the two cans of this I have.
But it didn't tell what it is other than 7.62 x 54.

The above posters have it right, Albanian 7.62x54R LPS (light ball steel core). Corrosive, brass cased. Unfortunately it is some of the lower quality surplus 54R to be imported. Fires reliably and accuracy is "OK" for what it is, but some of the cases have manufacturing defects. In a beater Mosin it's not a big deal, but you will get some case splits, both at the neck and up near the head of the case. Wear shooting glasses and be prepared for occasional gas in the face! I would not shoot this in anything but a Mosin and I wouldn't shoot it in a nice one.

I'll know not to ask top dollar for this if I sell it.
