I was at the Paradise Pass Regulators range helping set up for the main matches at End of Trail this week. I met a gentleman that has a couple neat toys. We get to shoot them this week! For a fee of course. How cool!
If you want to see some neat stuff the main matches are Wednesday thru Friday, 7:30am until about 3:00 or so. Long range is on Tuesday.

I stopped out there today with my oldest son to watch the shoot and got to watch a few folks put some rounds through the Gatlings...pretty neat experience, and definitely not something you get to see every day! I was really impressed with the whole setup and how they managed to fit that many people in there without it feeling overly crowded. I've been to the gun shop a number of times, but never back into the range area behind...they've got a lot of space out there. It was a good time, and there were some really talented shooters.

I don't have the kit or the skills to hang with that crowd, but my son and I went over to our range afterwards and put some .45 Colt through my 1894 and my Blackhawk...somehow it just seemed appropriate!

Those are .45-70 Gatling guns. My daughter put 40 rounds through the short one. I fired the longer barreled one. I'll try to put video up when I get home.
The mountain howitzer was pretty cool. Didn't shoot that one.

The .30 cal broke. They tried to machine a replacement piece but it still is down. Bummed

The 1917 broke? I've always felt that if there was an invulnerable machine gun, it was the 1917A1.
