Hunting with sbr in indiana

I knew the law before was had to be 16 inch barrel but I dont see that anymore anyone have insite?

Last I read it was no sbr, but pistol is ok. Apparently the stock makes all the difference. Seems dumb to me, but such is many gun laws.

Exactly before the barrel length was clear now its not on there but I would think that a true stock would be more accurate and as such a more safe/ethically way to hunt.

IIRC, the reason for the no SBR rule was that at one point the rules were written in such a way that a SBR met the definitions of a pistol and thus would be legal in rifle calibers which were not legal in rifles at the time. Some busybody brought this to the DNR's attention, and the DNR being the DNR, the did the expedient thing of making SBRs illegal for hunting. I would guess this rule changed again when the bulk of the rifle caliber restrictions were removed for private land.

I'm not doubting anything that's been quoted above. But just pointing out the barrel length restrictions are absent on the DNR equipment page.
