Sure would be cool if we would enforce the border and enforce laws against hiring illegals with real penalties. I don't blame the migrants. I blame the 'job creators' who keep hiring them then telling us it's our fault because "Americans won't...." Yes, they will. Just not at the serf wages you want to pay. It wasn't enough to ship jobs to Mexico with NAFTA, outsource so much more to China and India, no, you've got to hire illegals to compete with Americans here to keep wages down, bust unions, and keep the work force complacent.

Now the shoe's on the other foot because labor briefly has some real pull due to manpower shortages so I'm sure there's a push to open the floodgates for more illegals to fill those gaps. Neither party will fix it, though the Republicans at least have the sense to pretend to want to until they have the ability to, then like the Hearing Protection Act they forget all of a sudden.
You forget, there was one republican who went a long way towards fixing it - but I guess he made mean bird noises or something

I just hope people don't turn this into some dumb political campaign when this is out and out one of the largest threats to domestic security.

There's nothing stopping russia or china from doing the same with their military forces. They can fly in, land and bus themselves off without any pushback from law enforcement. All that military spending doesn't amount to a hill of beans if you just welcome them in.

For ****s sake there's no proof that isn't what this is.

Not to Denny the thread, but aren't they basically "asylum-seekers," and therefore engaged in a process which grants them temporary legal status?

It's like every other form of corruption favored by the powerful in this country. They find a way to make it legal.

If every migrant is called an "asylum-seeker"...is there really even such a thing as an illegal immigrant anymore?

It's like the 911 attacks. Pocket knives on planes were legal. "They" found a way to exploit the hell out of that. Same with our Asylum policies. Our Christian Utopian Values have been hiding in plain sight for eons in the form of our Asylum policies, but nobody ever really exploited it. Now that there's real organized resistance to unrestrained immigration, its proponents have found their "pocket knife" in the form of Asylum policy. It's a back door, and you're playing catch-up to try to close it because the laws and policies which allow for it have already been on the books for literally decades. They just found the work-around.

    Where's the proof of that?

This whole situation of just assuming these are asylum seekers, or illegal aliens is absolutely retarded.

If I was China and I wanted to attack the US directly with plausible deniability, I'd go to the mexican cartels and tell them to find me fit fighting age men, in exchange for large quantities of drugs and money. I'd take them back home and train them for a number of years, then send them back to mexico to have them seek asylum in the US.
They could gather intel and ship it back home for money, get jobs with defense contractors and get secrets back to me. And if the time came, I could have them attack various poorly defended assets.

All the while the liberal ruling class would never assume anything.

To make it easier for the illegals to move around once they are in the states they are now allowed to use their own arrest warrants as ID to board a plane.

Americans have to go through a vetting process, Jaun Valdez has to come across dripping, be caught by border patrol, issued a warrant by giving whatever name he wants (remember, he has no ID), take said warrant to airport and travel anywhere they want.

Remind me again, what is the purpose of the TSA? What is the purpose of vetting? Will someone please tell this administration why we have it?

Cabinet members who are suppose to enforce the law at first chose not to and now they are telling the elected congress and the people they represent that the laws are now null and void? I think even Forrest Gump can foretell what is coming next.

If someone were to ask POTUS what he thinks about Roe v Wade he would answer, "I think it is the best way for illegals to get into this country..."

Why is it not treason? Because both sides support it.
The Democrats want new supporters and the Republicans want cheap labor.

To say one thing and do another is nothing new to politics.

C'mon guys. Biden is trying to decrease the numbers on the border by flying illegals secretly nonstop across the country under the cover of darkness in the middle of the night. Spread them out so it doesn't look so bad. Hellava strategy.

This is a direct violation of the laws of The United States. This is criminal, how is this not being viewed as a hostile action against the citizens of this country? This is insane. We are getting played hard.

You forget, there was one republican who went a long way towards fixing it - but I guess he made mean bird noises or something

There was one who made a lot of noise and posturing about it and did some poking at the edges, but zero who've attacked the real issue.

If you were poor and desperate but there were jobs way better than anything you could get here in Kentucky, would a law keep you out of Kentucky? The Ohio River? A wall? You'd let the government tell you to sit home and keep your family in poverty because Kentucky is not for you? Not you specifically, but it's funny how many people here throw out the 'people are sheep' trope while baa'ing the loudest, but also don't understand people crossing a political boundary to better their lives. Only sheep sit in the pen waiting. So, that's why I don't blame the actual illegals. Had my wife's visa been denied for some reason, I wouldn't have just shrugged and said guess you can't come here. I'd have done whatever I could to smuggle her in. Tell me you wouldn't risk breaking an immigration law to keep your family intact. Open challenge to all. Tell me you're so law abiding you'd keep your wife and mother of your child abroad because you're that scared of the government's rules. Baa.

Now that we maybe have some agreement on there is huge incentive to attempt to come here illegally, maybe we can also agree that root causes need to be addressed. Name me *one* politician of either side that has supported real penalties for the economic support of hiring illegal workers. Because that's how you fix this. Hire illegals, accept obviously forged documents, refuse to use work eligibility verifiers, go to prison. Not pay a fine, then it's a cost of doing business. Go. To. Prison. Cities that fund illegals? Is there not an existing federal code for assisting criminals? If not, that's an easy fix. Go. To. Prison.

Remove the economic incentive and the migrants stop coming. There's nothing here for them. You've removed the ocean. Now whatever illegals are crossing are more likely to be drug mules, terrorists, gang members, fugitives from their own country, whatever. Even with no expansion in border patrol, with no ocean to deal with there's a lot more resources for each fish.

Remind me again, what is the purpose of the TSA?

While *definitely* not arguing about the effectiveness of TSA, that's not really applicable here as non-commercial flights don't require TSA screening. If you charter a plane, are your own pilot with your own plane, etc. then TSA is irrelevant to the conversation. The only charter flights I've ever been on were courtesy of .gov and we were definitely carrying prohibited items.

The concern TSA supposedly addresses is hijackings of planes. You can't really hijack your own plane, it's already yours. You can still do bad stuff with it, like you can a car or dump truck, but frankly so can the pilots of public planes. They just take more people with them if they decide to suicide.
