Not the greatest story to link, but it gets the ball rolling.

After the news stories I saw yesterday, I keep asking myself how we think we have the ability to discern "bad actors" when in reality we are all have the ability to be "bad actors"?

Lots of stories about AIs replacing humans in a number of different job fields...and undoubtedly more to come.
Check out chat GPT.....it can mimic human essays, stories, etc.
The rise of the machines may make humans irrelevant in many jobs.

Terrifying. How long till they have thought scanners along side roadside and sidewalk cameras? Ooh , maybe they can integrate it into the home like alexa and siri. Doesn't that sound fun.

Someone invent the time machine, I wanna go backwards.

From the article, it sounds more like the AI gets the "gist" of what they wanted to say. Equally troubling. Imagine a computer "correcting" your speech before you say it.

My biggest concern is elitists using AI, being able to control an autonomous army without any human checks on their agenda.

There simply won't be any "need" for most people in their eyes.

Another application of AI would be in a military sense, especially with automated weapons and drones. One such nightmarish platform discussed back in 2019 is what I call the "300 Win Mag Drone". It was a theoretical drone retrofitted with a match grade 300 Win Mag barrel, as well as thermal optics and a ballistic calculator. This drone would be capable of hitting a dinner plate size target while flying 1,000 feet in the air at 40 MPH at day or night. The drone could be automated or given commands like a regular Predator drone. The debate is not if we had the ability to do this, but should we.
