:welcome:from Porter. LIved in Portage for 16 years.

A lot of us hang out here and talk about region stuff. No need to read the whole thing, pop in and say hi. We do Meet and Eats ans Meet and Shoots occasionally to get to know each other.

    Welcome Josh.
If you like "mechanically interesting" firearms, you should take a close look at the M1895 Nagant pistol.
As far as I know, it's the only revolver than can be effectively suppressed, though it probably isn't worth the trouble.
You're in the right place to talk guns.
Stick around and you'll learn a lot.

Sounds fun, but I’m taking my brother to the Crown Point gun show that day

I've always found the .30-40 Krag rifle to be interesting too.
Mainly due to the way the magazine feeds.
I always thought it looked like a Rube Goldberg invention.

    I have one.
It's fun to shoot, but anemic as hell.
I wouldn't want to be shot by one, but it's far from high power.
They are expensive to feed and ammo can be hard to find.
Still, everyone's jaw drops when they see that cylinder move forward to seal on the forcing cone.
Btw- they also have about a 12 lb trigger!

Some of us in the NWI area hang out here

You don't have to read the whole thread, it's just us chatting and rambling.
Just read the last couple pages or so, jump on in and say hi, if you want to.

Sometimes we have M&E (Meet & Eats) or M&S (Meet & Shoots), and we'll discuss them there. The events will be posted in the 'Events' section, but we talk about it in the NWI thread.
