For many people well versed it may be preaching to the choir, but to those new to ownership of firearms, those considering taking the plunge, and those who have to deal with people opposed to the Second Amendment on a regular basis it serves as a great piece

Yup. Man has an inalienable right to life, and thus a right to self-defense, and thus a right to the means/tools to mount that defense. This is the root of it all.

Furthermore, if it can be argued that this right derives from natural law/right (and I believe it can), then it predates and supercedes the state.

This must be the foundation of our argument.
