The rain is great to hear coming down. We really needed it. That said, I sprayed a half hour before the rain with a neem oil/Monterey Complete Disease Control combo to keep the cuke beatles and powdery mildew at bay.

I wonder if the spraying was a waisted time/money effort? Did it all wash off?
I think I know the answer on the cuke beetles. I was rousing them out when spraying the undersides of leaves. If the the mix will kill the beetles, they got a dose.
I wonder if the fungicide will still be effective though?

I've had far better results with this soap over Neem oil for insect control. You can pick different scents

I think I'm gonna give the squash, cukes, and melon's another spray when we are clear of rain for a bit. Quick walk through the garden in the rain stirred up a few cuke beetles and I spied some powdery mildew again.

We are pushing 2" of rain here, so I figure everything will really take off, if I can keep the bad stuff at bay?

I hate those things, they always mess up my squack hunting. Once I smell them I start wondering around till I find’em. By then I’ve told every squirrel in the woods I’m there.

Same with ginseng set on a log, spot a 3 or 4 prong 30 yards away, start wondering around the woods looking for seng, hello squacks here I am.

I'm not sure sure what squacks are? I don't think it's what the googled urban dictionary said it was though.

First time lacto-fermenting pickles without fresh dill on hand. I have dill seed, but opted to use Ball pickling spice instead.

It's a giant experiment this time, as I also mixed fresh picked cukes with those accumulated over a week and stored in the fridge. ???

Have good pepper plants this year? May want to look at this.
I will be trying it this year.

I have one I transplant and ring inside. A white bell pepper. The. Other colors. I spent less than 1.50 a plant on and at that price it is cheaper to buy than take up the space in the house. You have to raise the white ones from bell’s rainbow pepper mix. So she has come in a few years now.

    Some of this years crop.
