    If you are shooting a single stack yes you will need five. If you’re shooting a hi cap gun you can get by with three

    I have never been to one. Will you actually need 5 magazines/carriers?
    Here is what shooting a stage looks like. Not me shooting btw.


    You can reload the gun at any time. Ideally, you do it between strings. Mag pouches not required.
    What is required are loaded magazines. How many depends on the capacity.

    Match round count is about 90 rounds. A stage is 15-20. You don't want to run out of loaded magazines.

    I typically bring 2x the round count when I go to any match
