More like a DMR to me, but the French Army, who is re-arming, is receiving its first FN SCAR-Hs.

Will be interesting to see how the high end S&Bs hold up on the notorious optics eater like the SCAR 7.62.

I had 2 nightforce NSX, and one vortex razor on my SCAR H. Never affected them.

Our guns weren't dropped in battle. Our guns were abandoned by politicians. There's a difference.

SCAR's do have a reputation for eating optics. I've had 7 different scopes on my SCAR, and never had a failure. The reason these get the reputation for eating optics, is typically people go all out on rifle and scope, and buy junk mounts. I will say, you cant get by with junk mounts on a SCAR, and expect your optic to hold, but I dont think they are rough on a optic with good mounts.

They are still in use (the glorious oversized ones) but only used by Alpine troops (here in Afghanistan alongside US troops).
