That Methodists group seems to have lost its way.

Our church just voted to disassociate from the UMC due to the ongoing leftist turn in the denomination.

Unfortunately, many individual churches don’t even know what is going on with the United Methodist church…their pastors won’t let the congregation know of the changes in their bylaws. We were one of the lucky ones whose leaders were very straightforward with us. Vote was 128-14 to leave.

The congregation found out the choir director was gay.

Yes, our church had to take out a mortgage since our building and land was held by “the trust” and to pay off pension obligations and such. We are joining the Global Methodist church and will now keep title to the property as there is no trust now. Global Methodist is the conservative alternative.

As I understood it, about half if the congregation left over it. And with that the church didn't have the financial ability to continue.

I'm sure John Wesley would definitely had a difference of opinion.

My hasty email I sent to them.

I'm very disappointed in your woke un-American political ideals that try to undermine the 2nd Amendment of the constitution and Indiana's constitution.
Both state we have a right to keep and bear arms.
The United States Supreme Court also ruled that is exactly what it means. Can you believe that?
I will make sure I will never use your services if I'm able.
How can you be against self defense of a person and other innocent people?
Jesus himself was not against bearing arms.

If you are truly a Christian organization I ask you to review your ideals.

This is the doctrine the Methodist Church is supposed to be following.
There are still churches out there that still hold true to this doctrine.

I would think Jesus would want those tasked with protecting themselves and society to be concerned with all violence. Not being violent but a shield against evil. I’ve always followed the principles of non-aggression and they’ve done me well.

ALL VIOLENCE MATTERS

The means and motives may differ but violence is a tool. Can be used to “serve and protect” or “subjugate and destroy.”
