    It's not that unusual to catch 30 pounders at the lake I fished in NC. Buddy of mine caught a 55 lb. Striper. And that was like 10 lbs. lighter than the state record. If I remember correctly (it's been 35 years), in the tournaments, they had to be fresh water only. They would take a flesh sample and if they were salt water Stripers, they didn't count. Phucking cheaters.

    These are 30" or so rocks from the Patuxant river just off our familys farm in Md.
    My #2 is in the middle, with his ya yaa's. a john boat, 20lb spider wire and 1/4 oz rattle traps.
    If one is after 40" to 55" inch ones a few miles to the bay and troll or live line for them. .

    Wow, those are monsters. I bet they were a blast to catch.
