    While not quite my favorite, the fish I miss eating the most is smelt. Used to be a local restaurant that always had smelt on the menu. Got it every time I went there.

    Now I can't find it being served anywhere.
    Try Grill 2 on Pendleton Pike in McCordsville. It's on their menu and I enjoy it when I have a chance to go there.

    Carmel
    Walleye, Brook trout, Salmon, Chilean Sea Bass. And my brother owns a seafood restaurant and store in NJ which supplied me with these goodies for years.

    Fried crappie!

    Interesting reflection on a past Outdoor Life article, circa 1977;

    They ran a story about a fishing tournament, making it a point to not mention what kind of fish they were targeting, but went on about the fishing, the great fighting fish, etc. Then talked about all the fishermen coming back to check-in/weigh-in, and everyone started cleaning fish for a big fish fry. Went on about how excellent the fish tasted, and then dropped the bombshell. They were targeting and catching carp. The article said that carp were originally introduced here by European settlers who brought them here because they considered them to be such a fine eating fish. I`ve never had carp, but wouldn`t be adverse to trying them.
