I actually heard the "anti first amendment" name before I heard "anti facist". I find it interesting however that they employ classic facist tactics, they have uniforms (all black with masks to hide their coward faces), and use violence to shut down opposing parties viewpoints.

Another thing I find ironic is that the Democrats were soooo concerned about Republicans not accepting the results of the election, now that the shoe is on the other foot they are *****ing and moaning like the world is going to end.

Sargon of Akkad's lengthy, but excellent, take on this organization that he fully accurately describes as a cult:

Negative. Not letting you get away that easy. Not only that...it is our RIGHT to replace our government by vote or by force if the citizens so deem. We can't all be terrorists.

And, had they lost, guess what they would have been labeled?

Well if Cali wants to declare independence, I vote we let them go and keep our military bases as in Cuba.

OMG, Sylvain that is horrible. Had not heard of that before. :xmad:

    It happened last week.

They used incendiaries devices and fireworks (professional stuff, not stuff you use for the 4th of July) against the police during a "protest".

Those Antifa people are not happy a far-right candidate made it to the second round of our election.
I'm sure we will have more rioting this Sunday after the results of the election are known.
Especially if the far-right candidate wins.

Speaking of the election, care to make any predictions? Le Pen is way behind in the polls. But as we saw with Brexit and the election of DJT, the polls have been horribly wrong before. But I suspect Macron will win.

The polls have been very accurate for the first round of the French election.
Got all 11 candidates in the right order.

More likely Macron will win with over 60% of the votes.

The choice between a socialist and a fascist...It's like France is copying us. :D

Looks like Macron has some pretty corrupt dealings, too.

American media jumped right in, saying Russians "hacked him" to sway the election. Odd... the only influence I saw on another country's election was Obama endorsing Macron.

I was about halfway listening to the radio a day or two ago and they were trying to decide which candidate the communists were going to support. If I heard correctly, I think they were thinking Macron might be the most attractive to the communists.

From what I heard many communists don't want to vote for either candidates.

They will only vote for Macron to keep a far right candidate from being elected but they won't vote because they support his ideas.
They will vote against Le Pen and not for Macron.

Macron is not a socialist. We had a socialist candidate that didn't make it to the second round.

I only know what I've been reading and hearing over here but my impression is he was a subordinate in one of the earlier, socialist or all but socialist administrations and has only recently claimed to be no longer part of that mind set. Again, shades of US candidates. :D

As a About-To-Be-Ex-Californian, I can say that if Cali were to try to secede, the Central Valley (from Redding to Bakersfield, minus the thorn of the City of Sacramento), entirety of the Sierras, and desert would break from Cali and join Oregon, Nevada, and AZ. The far-north coast would probably break, too, and try to set up their long-discussed State of Jefferson with southern Oregon. Push come to shove, the Cal Nat'l Guard would back the stance of Federal forces, not Sacramento politicians.

I'd get a kick to see an independent SoCal & SF Bay Area trying to enforce water rights from the Sierra & Colorado River under that paradigm. They'd run back right quick. Water = life!
