Dialog box buttons not working

Don't know what I did (if anything), but the buttons to change font color, add pictures, etc., are not working. They are there but light in color. I'll see if I can attach a screenshot.

Any ideas?

Think I know what happened. I've done it before.
Click on the 3 vertical dots all the way to the right, then click the icon that looks like this [ ]. You should be good to go then
