Which cop took the initial shot?

    Rifleman or handgun?
    Both...............
Deputy Engle fired once at the suspect's head, and Deputy Tran fired once from his handgun at the same time at the suspect's head. After these shots the suspect dropped to the ground and the female hostage moved northwest in the yard toward officers. Officers, both in the alley and in the yard, observed that the suspect continue to move on the ground with access to his firearm. Deputy Engle and Deputy Tran fired several more shots from their position in the alley. Deputy Knight, Officer Madrigal and Officer Aranda fired from the backyard until the suspect stopped moving.

Curious to find out if the female gets charged with anything. She obviously knew the guy well enough to hop in his stolen vehicle.

She was his common law live-in for a year.

She said they owned the vehicle....that will be interesting to see, if true.

If it was stolen, she should be in for felony murder.

Risky shot for the first officer but it turned out.
I sure wouldn't want to be put into that situation.
Big difference between military snipers and police sharp shooters, my hat is off to this officer and his skills.

In another post this is the type of behavior I was complaining about. Told to do something and arrogant people get away with running, hurting other people in their retreat, well this guy learned not to be a braggart and threaten people. A little more justice like this would lessen the jail and court load and send a clear message to the criminals. Why are the prosecutors and judges not on the hot seat about all of this crime and senseless crap going on? They are the ones not prosecuting or mitigating the crime down or letting people out to continue their criminal enterprise.

Great first shot. From a couple of angles a wonder a couple of the front line officers weren't hit by the second and third row of officers firing.
