For years, I have been told that a good belt is critical to carrying a handgun in a IWB holster. Yeah, sure, right. Well after years of trying different standard everyday belts and having every one of them start sagging within hours, I finally gave up and the plunge. Started doing some research and could not convince myself to pay anywhere from $80 to who knows. Then I came across Daltech Industries.
Ok, here we go again, I thought. But I got on their website and started looking at their line of gun belts Impressed with their selection and pricing, I made a phone call and had a good conversation with a very helpful lady there. Learned that they are located in NE Indiana and I like doing business with local companies. She took her time and went over their various options and styles of belts. I finally decided on their brown smooth leather bullhide belt (always liked the traditional look) for $50 and placed my order.
A few days later, the belt arrived as promised. Upon opening the package, I was immediately struck with the weight and quality of the belt. Actually, I was a bit intimidated by it. But I pulled my old belt out and replaced it with the new belt. Amazing! No sag or rollover at all. Belt holes were well spaced and simple to use. OK, so far, so good. Now let's see how it feels with my S&W M&P 45 Shield in a Kydex IWB holster attached to it. No problem at all! The gun felt more secure than it ever had. No sag, no twist, no droop. Nice and snug next to my body with no movement. Ok, I am impressed.
Well, 3 months later, I am still impressed. Very comfortable and still looks great. And my gun feels just as secure as it did the 1st day. I normally carry 3-6 hours a day when I am out and about. But there have been numerous times when those times were stretched to 8-10 hours. Never a bobble, never an issue. Now, my only regret is that I did not do this sooner. Could have bought this belt 3 times over with all the money I spent on regular belts hoping they would do the trick. Just goes to show you that sometimes, you really can teach and old dog new tricks.
I strongly recommend this belt and the company behind it. Quality product does does what it says it will do. And a very good company to work with. Plenty of styles and options to choose from. Take a look at their website (www.daltechforce.com) and do yourself a favor by ordering your gun belt from them. You will not regret it.
PS. If you are still trying to make your current belt "work" with your gun, quit it! Spend the money and get yourself a belt designed to do the job. It will make all the difference in your day to day carry. Right tool for the right job comes to mind.
