I believe mine was a 617-3 ?. The 6" barrel with the finger-groove wood grips. Maybe a Target version? In any case, it's due for a good cleaning. Dad used the snot out of that thing, and never cleaned it except for a once-a-decade wipe down!

    .
Mine was just a run of the mill 4" with factory wood grips. It's a -1.

Interesting that they went from -1 to -3 in around a year.

    They are sweet .22's.

I just looked at my Dad's 617 and it is a -1 like yours. Purchased new in '95 or '96.
6" full lug with combat grips.

The trigger in SA mode is amazing.

AKA down size, cleaning out the safe... selling guns. Who else has made this mistake? I’ve done it twice and now I seriously regret doing it. Some of the stuff I got rid for one stupid reason or another, I would give almost anything to get back. The most notable are an ERA M1917, 1972 Browning HI-Power, and a Kimber Eclipse 45acp and the list goes on. What was your biggest regret?
Mine was selling my MK 4 Series 70 that I had used in comp, while stationed in Germany. That was in 80. Had to sell it as the Navy did not allow personal weps on board. The only thing I did not like about it was the bushing that I had to replace after 200 rds.

So many regrets...NIB FN FAL; 7.62 FN 49; two mint Colt Pythons one blue, one high polish SS; a SIG AMT; S&W 40; a factory 4" S&W Model 1950 Pre-Model 24; S&W 29-2; S&W 646; a 45-70 Ruger #1; a mint .357 US Arms Abeline; a very nice Frommer Fémáru 37; a Polish Radom; a custom Ruger Vaquero; a couple dozen M1 Garands... I console myself now with the fact that I'm getting old and they'll all have to go sooner rather than later.

My first gun. When I was a kid, Dad gave me a Lebel 22 full stock that he brought back from WWII. Later he decided we should trade it because it didn't have a safety. That rifle was so accurate! But we did get a nice Winchester 1890 for it but I still wish I had that old Lebel back.

A swiss K31 i received for Christmas when I was 16. They pulled the whole, "What's behind the Christmas tree?" thing from a Christmas story. I have always regretted selling that K31, and for Polish Tantal sporter made by CAI... yuck! The serial number on that gun was 970966 in case anyone has it.... u lucky devil.

I sold a hi power mkIII to another Ingo member for $500 or $550. A month or two later Browning announced they were discontinuing production of the hi power and they doubled in price. I wish I had held on to that.

Aside from that, I sold the first two guns my father bought me (American Heritage .22 and a Marlin .22). He isn’t the sentimental type and encouraged me to sell them, but I still feel some guilt over it.

    Just a couple of regrets.
PolyTech Legend AK underfolder with a spike bayonet. It was dressed in blonde furniture. Only AK I've ever owned.
Colt King Cobra 357mag with 4" barrel. Wish I had it now because it's worth way more than it was in 1990.

I have never sold a weapon. I bought them for a reason. I can't imagine that I ever will. No regrets.
Oh I bought all of mine for a reason too. Whether or not it was a good reason is up for debate. :): Is "because I don't have one like that yet" a good reason?

I made the mistake early on in my marriage, telling the wife that guns are an investment. Like money in the bank. Not like spending it, just changing it's shape from paper to steel....Need I say more? banks can be used for deposits.....and withdrawals. Hard times and my early excuses to buy guns cost me the full auto, the bench rest target .50 BMG, and a few other true gems. I have my memories and really enjoyed them while I had custody of them.
