Looks like the badge engineers of GM are back. Since all of these EVs are going to basically be the same thing with different tweaks for power output and suspension, why not call call the Blazer a Corvette and charge $80k for the base trim? Can I get a Pontiac now, since they are all the same basic platform with a different body kit? I need a new SUV with a Firechicken on the hood.

    :)

I was surprised that Ford watered down the Mustang brand but giving your new EV an iconic name will help it stand out in a crowded field.

Sort of reminds me of the Cadillac Cimarron.
Legend has it that a GM engineer was asked what the difference was between a Cimarron and a GM Cavalier. He said "about $5,000 dollars"

A Constitutional Amendment requiring Corvettes have round tail lights, 4 each. While we're at it, ban the designated hitter.

Playing devil’s advocate Porsche managed SUVs and an electric and it hasn’t seemed to hurt the brand.
SUVs quite literally saved Porsche. They remain their best sellers.

I could see Corvette becoming a brand, and could even see an SUV as a competitor to Porsche and BMW performance SUV options but have little interest in the same as an EV.

One more 'vette fanboi tells me "You arent a true fan unless you can still see the iconic lines in the new mid engine models."

No, dude. It looks nothing like a Corvette. They both have curves at various points in the body. Thats about as similar as they are. Oh and the badge. Thats it.

Looks like Chevy simply duplicated a Lambo to me. Not very 'Vette like anymore. They lost me not only with the looks, but without a true manual transmission I have no interest. (same holds for the Lambo and most new cars) I just want to row gears. Very satisfying to make those perfect shifts.

Granted the Lambo costs $900K+, if were in that market I'd choose the 'Vette since I'm not a 1%er. The new Z06 specs and sound of the flat-plane crank engine is awesome for the money.
