Maybe no pay-to-play in the classifieds. If you want to dump gear, post up some good content and earn your stripes. Might cut down on some of the rule breakers.
But it would probably have an impact on the funding for the site. I'm guessing a lot fewer people would pony up for Site Supporter without the classified perk.

Maybe. I wonder what percentage of new members pay the money to raid the classifieds only. It's not my site, but I'd rather them keep the $20 than ruin a major draw of INGO.

Classifieds are the wild west some days.

Lately I think a lot of the newbies are paying to play. Heck, there are some long time Site Supporters that only post in the classies.

Yes, there are. Self admittedly, I'm one of them, but it's because people can't even discuss 22 rimfire politely in the ammo section without posting FJB political rants. The politics section oozes into every section of this forum. But that's another discussion.

As much as I'd love for that to be the case, INGO is a business for the owner. The classifieds are a huge draw.

I've recently had more and more poor experiences with newish low post count classifieds users. Nothing worth naming users over, but overall a lack of manners and good decorum.

"I'll take it," offers ignored, without even as much as a thank you anyway. Responses to conversations taking a day or more to reply with a cold short answer. No budging on stoutly priced items that have been posted for some time.

It's kind of sad, because I used to be proud to say that I would work with the low post count members that others wouldn't and had had good results. :(

And its not just here. I was posting an item for sale on ebay. Used, priced to move (less than half brand new). The guy who has bought several of these in the past apparently forgot who I was and lowballed me in a message. $215 lower. I reminded him what the secret make an offer level was for him to get it at what he got it the last time. ($100 below) He insisted they had decreased in value, and offered me $150 below. As I was sending a message telling him to think about it because I wasnt budging, and couldnt ship for an extra day anyway, I got an email. Somebody else scooped him at my asking price. LOL
