Interested in any emergency medical courses dealing with trauma first aid, controlling bleeding, that sort of thing (in the event of an accident, violence, or other disaster). Any non-EMT civilian-level options available and perhaps locally?

I 3rd Stop the Bleed. I have completed the class and it's a very good hands on class. And if I recall it should be free too.

I'm interested in having a "stop the bleed" class for my congregation because it's basic; free; and the group aren't comitted "training junkies".
There was nothing scheduled within 100 miles of my location. The website said "we're just starting to organize our class schedule"...it's August now. "nothing" IS free.
A class with MALC, MDFI, WPS, etc is worth the time and money...unless one is uncommitted and only slightly interested. Maybe the Red Cross has a similar class?
