Chronograph

[Frontiersman]

I haven't used a chronograph in about 20 years. I'm thinking of buying a new one for load development.

How have they improved? Any features I shouldn't live without? Brand preference?

I love my Competition Electroncs with Bluetooth. The integration with the app on my phone allows me to easily sort groupings and calculates anything you need to know such as velocity power factor, standard deviation etc.

I just used mine again today testing loads for my 10mm 1911.

Magnetospeed is my preference, because I don't have to deal with it being downrange on a public range.

I hate putting anything in front of the firing line other than a target down range. MagnetoSpeed fits this requirement and has been flawless for me. YMMV.

I usually check my velocity at home so this isn't a problem for me. If you don't have a back 40 I can very easily see going with that kind of chronograph.

I have a home range, and still use a magneto speed. Its so much faster to set up, and has been 100' for me.
