    Nice job! Looks purty.
Thanks! I just put the second coat of polyurethane on it and it looks even better. I'll put the 3rd coat on tomorrow, then I can put the trigger guard and butt plate back on and get to the cleaning of the bore and clean/lube the action and it should be good to go.

    After 2 coats:

Thanks CM. There was a time that I never thought this day would come (huge back story that I won't go into). Makes me happy to have this chance.

Thanks B&G! It's been a fun project, especially knowing it's going to make my grandson happy. Now just have to do a clean and lube and get it all put back together. :)

Don't know about fighting, but at least now we know it shoots, and shoots well! :) I would not be afraid of fighting any squirrels with it.

Thanks bc! I'm sure he will. He's a little small for his age, so the stock might be a little long for him at first, but he'll grow into it. And I'd rather give him something he'll grow into rather than grow out of.

Getting close to the big day! Taking the grandkids to see the Winterlights at Newfields Christmas light display Friday night, then opening their presents Saturday morning. DoggyMama actually suggested that I take the grandson to try out his "new" rifle Saturday morning so she can spend some time with the granddaughters and he gets to "play" with his new toy. :)
