I have a hard time searching on this vbullentin forum software, but here what I found last night (as I was looking for the exact same thing, but for going to Brown County)

    https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...discussion/16185-ingunowners_faqs_sticky.html

Where am I allowed to carry in Indiana?
Assuming you have your LTCH...not schools (including churches with preschools), not most government buildings, not most Federal property, not most of Indy City Parks. Yes, you can carry in most state parks.

There are some links in there to other discussions. The restriction it mentions above seems to be specific to Indianapolis Parks, so it may not apply to Greenfield. I guess I need to learn if places that do not allow guns actually post signs letting you know so that you may disarm yourself in compliance without getting in trouble. Doesn't seem fair that you would need to hunt and research for every place you go, there should be signs!

The relevant section of the Marion County code is:

    Sec. 631-108. Discharging firearms.
It shall be unlawful for any person, unless authorized by resolution of the board of parks and recreation, to discharge any firearms or have possession of any firearms or other explosive devices, or to endanger others by the use of any weapon, article or device, within any park, playground or on any property controlled or leased by the department of parks and recreation, or on which a concession has been granted by it.

However, there doesn't appear to be a penalty associated with this section of the code other than a fine, which would make this a civil infraction, and not a criminal offense. See:

Sec. 103-3. General penalties for violations of Code.
    (a) Whenever in any chapter, article, division or section of this Code, or of any ordinances amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto:
    (1) The doing of any act, or the omission to do any act or to perform any duty, is declared to be a violation of this Code, or of any such amendatory or supplemental ordinance, or of any provision thereof, or is declared to be unlawful; and
    (2) If there shall be no fine or penalty otherwise specifically prescribed or declared for any such violation, or for doing or for omitting to do any such act or to perform any such duty;
any person found to have committed any such violation shall be fined, by way of a penalty therefor, an amount not exceeding any limitation under IC 36-1-3-8 for each such violation, act or omission.
    (b) In addition to the foregoing penalty, the city may enjoin or abate any violation of this Code by appropriate action.

Let me know if anybody finds anything else.

Sahm park - water park? Is that on a list? I have a license so if discovered will I be ejected or arrested? Re read the list and I see Sahm is there. So What will happen if "Discovered"?

In a perfect and fair world, we would only get ejected. But, we are magically suppossed to know every where you can't carry your protection and understand confusing legalese to know where we can carry. I'm pretty sure we would be arrested.

For instance, if I'm not mistaken, since my drive us used as a bus stop for my kids, just my two kids, I can't carry in my driveway.

As for the parks, only gang members are allowed to carry there. I think.

"Victim zone" and "victim ordinance" is gun-owner speak for a no guns allowed zone or ordinance.

The idea being that no one in that zone is armed, making everyone a safe and easy target for criminals.

OK, I don't see Military Park on that list, where does that place stand?

Also, what about the Canal area?

Anyone got an answer for me? Not sure where the Canal stands...I assume Military park probably counts towards indy parks...but the canal goes for quite a bit!

I believe that they are all part of the White River State Park. Capital Police patrol the Canal as well as Military Park.

OK, I guess I answered my own question...

    Central Canal Towpath, Indy Greenways

    ca_map_175.gif

Let's see, how much of this trail would I feel safe without carrying?

Good question. I do not know about the Canal downtown, just that you cannot carry on the Greenways, which really pisses me off since I live 1/2 block from the Monon and bike, walk, and run on it.

You also cannot carry on Department of Waterworks property. That would include all of the canal and adjacent land that is under the DoW. You also cannot get a map of DoW property so may be in violation without knowing it.

Wow, no carry on the Monon? That was another question I forgot to ask, I figured no but that's just dumb. There were what, 3 robberies within a week last summer? One of them I know the victim, said he was knocked off his bike as he was riding by some punks. Maybe they knew no one would be carrying there!
