"But today, these protections are threatened by proliferation of so-called "ghost guns." Ghost guns are, in effect, a lethal do-it-yourself ("DIY") project that allows anyone at home to build a fully operable firearm within minutes, using nothing more than commonly owned tools and a pre-packaged kit. The resulting DIY weapons are "ghosts" because, lacking serial numbers, they are not traceable by law enforcement when they are used in a crime, and they are not regulated by the federal government in any way. That is a result of decisions by Defendants—ATF and its leadership—to exclude these ghost guns from the ambit of the GCA."

Wouldn't it be nice if commiefornia became their own country. Since they hate the US constitution, why not allow that one state to become an independent country and not mess with the rest of the USA freedoms.

Wish I could build a firearm with an 80% receiver and parts in a few minutes!

They can be their own country so long as I don't get deported back there and we build a huge ass wall to block them out.

Isn't most of California county wise conservatives, and just a few counties leftist? Why give them the whole state. Just give them what 10 counties that are leftist in belief. Then build a wall and new ports of entry.

    How about a social experiment.

Take the people in cali that support this big gov ****. Give them basic clothes and toiletries. No phone, nada.

Ship them to china. Give them a chinese gov approved phone. Let them live there for a year. If they like it, they get to stay. If they hate it. They pen a letter of apology to the Americans they betrayed. And they get to come back.

This is a page out of CARB/EPA playbook.
A wink and a nod and there is a court ruling to point to for justification.

I'd love to see the stats of ghost guns used in crime vs serialized guns
I don't care about the statistics. I care about the length and breadth of the powers of the federal government, and the rights of the people (you and me). That's the only issue that matters.

The ability to regulate interstate commerce is a power clearly reserved to the federal government. The restrictions foisted upon us by the federal government through the GCA are clearly unconstitutional, but the lack of regulation in certain areas should not be considered as "loopholes". The obvious intent of the commerce clause was to prevent trade protectionism among the states, but it has been perverted into the federal government sticking its rather large nose into areas that it was not originally intended to regulate.

Despite the disastrous and convoluted rationale behind the Wickard v. Filburn decision, I believe that the Congress that drafted the GCA understood that their were limits to their power, and specifically excluded the private manufacture and intrastate private transfer of arms from the law. That's my speculation anyway. Regardless, they DID specifically exclude private manufacture and intrastate private transfer of arms, so exercising these rights, and they are RIGHTS, is not exploiting a loophole. To the contrary, it is full compliance with the unconstitutional and unjust GCA that we currently suffer under.

This nonsense about it being a loophole is patently false. It is an exemption based on the limited power of the federal government. Those who seek to "close this loophole" are clearly advocating for increasing the powers of of the federal government while diminishing the rights of of the people. That's a very dangerous mindset, from very dangerous people.

I've actually seen such stats, although I don't recall where. I do recall they made no distinction between unserialized guns made from 80% or other parts, and guns that had their serial numbers defaced or otherwise removed, so the stats weren't really useful to the point the person was trying to make with them
