Rarely do something like this but I'm enjoying this book so much I thought I would share. It is titled “Spearhead“, writen by Adam Makos. He interviewed a tank gunner a few years ago and wrote a war biography following this man and the crew and company he was with through several battles in Belgium and Germany near the end of WWII. Some of the story is even written from the viewpoint of a member of a German tank crew. The book is very well written and moves quickly.

I haven't finished it yet but want to say this isn't a “feel good“ story. With triumph comes a lot of tragedy and Makos does a good job with both.

Here's recommendation, Maneaters, by Peter Capstick. It's about all the animals who will happily have you for lunch and a few who, surprisingly, rarely eat people (like wolves).
Some libraries might have it or try Abe Books.com. They are a good source for any book you may want to buy.

Unless it's an audio book I'm out. Thanks for the recommendations. besides aren't we supposed to be burning all of these anyway.

Well, there are several pages of glossy photos in the book, so not sure how that would work with an audiobook

So check the book out from your local library to see the pics, and d/l the audio version.

Personally, I prefer Death in the Long Grass to Maneaters but they are both good as are the other Capstick books I've read. The Maneaters of Tsavo by Col. James Patterson is another good read on a similar theme. Also, anything by Jim Corbett about hunting man eating lions and leopards in India would be worth a try.
