Has a bomb threat at a school/business in the US EVER resulted in a bomb having been found?
    Ever?

A little closer to home, the bomb in the following story was mailed to a lawyer in my building (not my firm), but exploded at the post office before being delivered.

I think that's right. Is the idea that those that those who threaten want the effects of the threat and not to actually bomb? I think there's some logic behind that.
Lots of students don't like tests especially finals

A school in michigan? Had a bomb blow up... i think and i could be wrong... but a teacher or janitor was upset and did it?
Bath school bombing referenced in an early post? Once again, no threat, just boom.

The specific question was WHEN THERE WAS A BOMB THREAT have they ever found a bomb? Not have they ever found one, or has one ever gone off. Thats not the question. And it matters.

Not that we are going to stop giving credence to the threats. But at what point do you say "If they really wanted to do it, they'd just do it and we wouldnt know until its too late. If they are telling us, they're 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% bluffing. "

Effective bombs are not easy to build. It’s possible but not easy. The circles of people smart enough to do it, with the skills needed to do it and who want to do it probably don’t overlap very much.

IED makers tended to blow themselves up pretty regularly in the Middle East

That pre-announcement (warning) of bluffing sure didn’t apply to the RV-camper in TN parked by the AT & T building awhile back. Electronic warning/speakers announced a bomb & to evacuate the area prior to the kaboom

This guy missed killing his lawyer Scruggs, but he was pretty screwed up afterward.
