When too many NCOs buy into wokeness because it's how you get promoted? That will be the Military the leftists want.
And this is exactly what’s happening. Being promoted has been boiled down to a popularity with command thing. If they don’t like you then you won’t get sent to the school you need to even make the promotion list. Doesnt matter if specialist snuffy hits his PT score and marksmanship being an all around stud, without BLC or whatever it’s called now he isn’t able to make it to the board.

so ya the liberals might not have the full support of the military yet, but they are well on their way to getting there

Ol Joe is the biggest swamp dweller ever. His life is a picture of a second rate political dummy.

He was best friends with a grand cyclops of the KKK. He has openly stated sexest, racist comments. No one seems to care

He has lied about his personal life and his accomplishments several times. No one seems to care.

He has obvious signs of mental decline often to the point of aides not allowing him to speak. No one seems to care.

Why would anyone believe Ol Joe is anything but a puppet for the fringe left?

Joe was told to say those words and we right or left are now “targets“.

Maybe I’m biased but the training I got in basic, AIT and pre deployment was top notch. We did all kinds of stuff that people I have talked to since don’t do even in combat arms. The “woke” and “PC” culture have destroyed this country’s military capabilities. The only thing holding it together right are a few crusty old E-7’s and E-8’s.

once they are gone in another 5 years what does that leave? A bunch of guys who’ve never seen combat and think corrective action is some words written on a piece of paper.

And how is this a bad thing, when in all likelihood, they'll be the ones bringing the war to our neighborhood?

After the last few friends I had got out, and the reasons they got out, I think the military is simply a husk of its former self and any warm thoughts for it are tainted by the lenses of nostalgia goggles. It's just a state run army for the woke.

As someone who got out less than 5 years ago I can assure you that the influx of new recruits is poorly trained and mentally equipped to deal with a real war. I went through training during the surge of Iraq and can give a list of things that they had stopped training during basic from the time I got in to the time I got out.

    1. hand grenades
    2.combatives
    3. Bayonets ( the bayonet isn’t really crucial for modern combat but the training and the mindset it creates it)
    4. CQB

I can only speak from my fathers POV, but he was making the same complaints about soldiers in the early 90s, just before he retired. He had Vietnam and DS1 under his belt, and thought that soldier were too coddled. I remember asking him about the movie Full Metal Jacket, and he said said it was spot on (same with Officer and Gentlemen). I remember he quipped that a DS would be in Leavenworth today if they still did that.

Anybody have the 3D printer source files for F15 or the 10kt nuke?
Elon musk was real casual about making nukes on a JRE podcast a couple months ago. Said it’s not hard and no big deal to use them on Mars.

that’s some real life Tony Stark level stuff, Biden better keep him happy so he doesn’t turn his talents to weapons development

That's an F-22 Raptor. It's newer and more expensive than the the F-15 Eagle or F-15E Strike Eagle.

Part of being retired USAF is pointing out these things. Yelling at the TV when a training aircraft makes things explode is also required.
I can’t believe Palmetto would practice false advertising! :ugh:

Kurt Schlichter will remind everyone that he wrote this series as a cautionary tale, not as a prediction, but it is becoming more and more prophetic:

Yeah it seems there is always the tendency for older generations to look with disdain at newer generations and how easy they have it.
But - there is a giant push to "woke" the military. It's widely acknowledged and being reported. I do have serious concerns about our nation's ability to win a fight if called upon. Hence, why I think the 2a is so critical. We may be called upon to defend ourselves from an invading army.

I’m sure things were different then. The military has been getting softer since they got rid of wall to wall counseling’s.

this new level of soft is on another level though. it’s one thing to say “ well let’s not beat them anymore for a punishment” and a completely different to say “these recruits don’t need to know how to fight with their hands”. They literally aren’t teaching these kids a martial mindset. Heck they took away rifle immersion so now handling rifles won’t be second nature for the majority of soldiers.
