Taking a picture down in the Oval Office is hardly erasing history.

Good grief, some of the things folks get worked up over.

Yup. Could be a long four years.

I still think you have been kidnapped.
All the hyper-right wing nuttery (props to Kirk), has sort of altered the landscape of INGO.

    My mistake.

He clearly was a socialist, not communist.

Clearly ...because he was recognized on the Democrat Socialists of America website. Are you able to tell me which tenets, observed by Democratic Socialists, are cited in that article, and explain why you disagree with them? I ask, because many people can't do so, and when they dig a little deeper, they find out that they are already are, or very close to being, a Democratic Socialist themselves. So, do you care to humor me? If not, on your own time, look up Democratic Socialism, at least as defined from the late 20th century to now.

I'm honestly amazed. I'm agreeing with longtime foes, who apparently have committed themselves to holding the line so the nuttery can go no further. "You Shall Not Pass!" It's like we have our own reluctant right-wing Gandalf.

Sure. I do know a little about history. Take for example the Democratic Socialists of Russia became the Communist party.

Why just those sited in the article? Why not allow what Democratic Socialists actually believe? I think you're being much kinder than is deserved. Democratic socialists want to replace capitalist modes of production with socialist modes of production, but often a mix. I mean. It's a perfect system if you're into cronyism.

"Democrat puts a bust of César Chavez" on his desk.

in other news... "Republican puts complete works of Ayn Rand on his desk."

Not all democratic socialism is created the same. Socialism isn't communism. Communism is just one kind of socialism. Communism isn't democratic. If it were people would be able to vote themselves out of it once they figured out how ****ed they were. Democratic socialism is a kind of socialism where the workers are part owners in the means of production. I don't mean like as in stock options as a perk of employment. But more like...well, like unions sort of owning the companies. A big problem with that is that you still have a hierarchy of people who have the power, and you still don't have it. It's like any collective. There's someone at the top and it's effectively their baby. You're just a nobody.

The only difference that can be clearly seen from socialism to communism is one-party rule.
Communism still has elections, but you choose from one party. It is a fine line. One democrat's in the USA are openly calling for(one party rule).

I have read loads of news about democrats calling for an end to the two-party system, the electoral college, and re-writing the constitution.

Well, I remember the media claiming that Trump removing Martin Luther King's bust from the oval office was an outrage and proved Trump was a hate filled racist white supremacist.
Later it turned out he hadn't removed it, but that didn't matter.

What some call right wing nuttery was once considered being a valuable citizen of the country. You know, back before guys like me were considered right wing extremists for taking oaths we actually intended to uphold.

This country is becoming what sci-fi horror movies we’re predicting as far back as the 80’s. No morals, no ethics, this nation long ago stopped being a beacon for the world. We will soon be nothing but a lesson for other countries history books on how to ensure a country fails.

The fact that the left makes me appear to be a prude would be an unbelievable thing to witness by people who have known me for years. They make me look like a saint.

Are you sure? Well, that just doesn’t sound like the utopian promise of any form of socialism, democratic or otherwise.

I have an idea. Let’s just close down every business in the country that isn’t owned socially and start from scratch. All of the obviously qualified, motivated yet currently oppressed citizens can start whatever businesses they want. Anyone who has held any position in business above middle management will be prevented in any way, shape or form from participating. They can live off of government assistance while all of the new folks running things make all the money.

Just think of what a newly emerged world economic leader that that would produce could do for the world! There would be sooooo much excess money we could literally give billions of dollars away to everyone except the citizens of this country!!!

    Oh, wait....
