I'm going to start using the Altoids tin idea

This is the smaller altoids tin. You can get a single use pack of antibiotic ointment, a guaze pad, few bandaids and cleansing wipe or two. Basically enough for a cut. It isn’t much but pretty handy and will easily drop in a pocket with your pocket knife or spare change. You would be surprised how handy a bandaid is! This is not a trauma kit. That is a different discussion and takes up more space.

What's the best EDC depends on the situation.
    There is no universal best.
I agree. It is really unique to each person in my humble opinion. What works well for one person, might not work for another. Need to add pepper spray to my EDC. I do keep some in each vehicle's console though.

With me, which pistol I carry can vary from even day to day.
What's the season as far as what clothing I'm wearing?
    How much concealment is needed?
    Where am I going?
    Etc
