Imma gonna reiterate what I said up thread (to no one in particular):

CLPs are jacks of all trades and masters of none.

From the vid in the OP, can see that the products that lubricate the best aren't necessarily the best at cleaning and protecting.

Ballistol was particularly bad at lubricating. Keep that in mind.

For your home, where you probably have the room to store more things; then having 1 GREAT product to clean and 2 GREAT products to lubricate should do you very very well.

Use what you want - but if you want better than average - a CLP, any CLP, probably isn't what you want.

Me? I use Breakfree CLP and/or Hoppe's #9 to clean. To lube, I've been using either Rig Gun Grease or a tube of white lithium grease - this stuff is for slides and slide rails. Sliding parts should get a grease.

Huh, had not heard of Clenzoil. Also, listening to him mispronounce Hoppes as "Hops" for 15 min drove me nuts.

    It's "Hopp-eezs".

Read this article a few years ago. One of the best and most comprehensive write-ups I have seen on this matter to date. FWIW, I have been using One Shot since reading this and have been very pleased with it's performance.

One Shot is good stuff! I've also been using it since reading that article several years ago. I haven't used it as a cleaner but for lubrication seems to work good, and is great for storage.

I have used it for cleaner. It does a decent job, I just found something a bit more effective:

The oil isn't bad either. TBH, I'd take the One Shot over the SL pack if I had to chose indefinitely. Just because it's a one and done kind of product.

Honestly, after chewing on this a bit, in this situation, I think his lubricity test is a red herring. I love his videos and have watched him for several years. In engines, his testing is spot on. I almost want to say his lubricity test is designed to generate a wow factor, and nothing more.

I think that test is not really applicable for guns. We arent cycling parts under extreme pressure at a high rate of speed thousands of times per minute. So I think the actual lubrication difference is not enough to measure in the real world.

The rest of the test though is interesting. Especially the carbon test.

I plan on getting me some looks like it's an excellent lube and rust Inhibitor. I'll still stick with Hoppes #9 and Ballistol for cleaning they work. I'm not a fan of clp's, and that article kinda proves what I figured years ago.
    I'm disappointed MPro7 didn't work better as a lubricant.

    Edit:
I have been using WD-40 SPECIALIST CORROSION INHIBITOR for my firearms for the last 9-10 months.
