What is the general feeling on which direction an iwb holster should point behind the back? I just read an article that said palm out is wrong. I’m looking for an iwb holster for a bersa thunder 380

it is a personal choice... as with any form of carry the more concealed , the slower / more difficult the draw..
I sometimes carry IWB behind the right hip in a left hand holster .. ( palm out) because it sits flatter to my body if I am wearing formal clothing..
    It is slower to draw..
if I am fully behind the back , i would use a SOB holster.. which draws with palm in..

Either way seems awkward and slow to me. And you're either sweeping yourself or everyone else coming up on target.

I never carry SOB. I don't like the possibility of my fall, and subsequently my spine, being broken by my gun if I fall on my back. I'll also say that the draw stroke is a bit odd for me.

That said: if it works for you and you have a well thought out reason; do what you do.

SOB Palm in would be impossible for me to draw and the gun would have to be upside down. Besides, you can't see if you've exposed your weapon or if you're printing. 4 o'clock usually for me.
