Every acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is AIDS. It is an umbrella term for a set of symptoms but it has been taken over in the press and conversation to be one specific disorder - that being the one caused by human immunodeficiency virus, HIV. This was originally and more properly called HIV/AIDS and then shortened to just AIDS.

There are two main divisions in immunodeficiency - Primary and Acquired. Primary ones are inherited so you are born with them. Acquired ones are picked up, typically by exposure to some outside antigen.
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome(AIDS) is any non-hereditary condition where part of the immune system is disabled or suppressed. This can be temporary such as when taking some steroids or some chemotherapy drugs or more permanent.

Again - this term has been taken over by the homosexual crowd just like they took over the word gay as well as rainbows. This shouldn't remove the original meaning of any of them - aids is the symptoms of a non-inherited compromised immune system, gay is happy or carefree and rainbows are a promise of no more huge floods as well as an optical effect of airborne water droplets on sunlight.
They are not called AIDS because autoimmune disorders are very different than immunodeficiency. Immunodeficiency is when part of the immune system isn't functioning. Autoimmune disorders are almost the opposite and are characterized by the immune system attacking healthy tissue.
I am not a scientist but this all seemed logical to me hence my post with the definition. I think that many, for different reasons, do not like the use of the aids moniker for what the virus/vaccines have done to some people.

Yes you can acquire immunodeficiency, but not all acquired immunodeficiency is AIDS. AIDS is specific to HIV Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Please show a cite where it applies to all acquired immunodeficiency. Here are some that state it is not.

As for gay, I doubt it was the homosexual crowd that took over the word when it started being used in that manner there were very very few that were out of the closet. And it was used for different meanings than happy or carefree even before that.

Great! You just proved they hijacked the name even though the definition and acronym applies to acquired immunity... LOL

No, I didn't prove that. It applies to one specific type of acquired immunity. Acquired immunity from something other than HIV is not AIDS. Kinda like all oranges are a fruit, but not all fruits are oranges.

It seems that you are saying acquired immunodeficiency syndromes can come in different flavors but "AIDS" can't.
That is pretty much the way the media treats it. Doesn't make a lot of sense does it.

Not quite what I'm saying. AIDS/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is a specific acquired immunodeficiency that is different from corticosteroid induced acquired immunodeficiency or any other type of acquired immunodeficiency. It is the term used for late stage HIV infection. Coughs can come in many different flavors, not all of them are smokers cough or Whooping cough. You can have a whooping sounding cough but you may not have Whooping cough. May not make sense to you, but it is what it is. It makes sense to me, it is used to describe the results of a certain disease. It is not a catch all phrase.

That says Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is different from acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.

    This is just semantics.
You know what acquired means, you know what immunodeficiency means and you know what syndrome means. You are saying AIDS™ is different from aids.

What are the different types of immunodeficiency disorders?

An immune deficiency disease or disorder occurs when the immune system is not working as expected. If you’re born with a deficiency from a genetic cause, it’s called primary immunodeficiency disease. There are more than 200Trusted Source primary immunodeficiency disorders.
Examples of primary immunodeficiency disorders include:
    • common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)
    • severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), which is also known as alymphocytosis
    • chronic granulomatous disease (CGD)
Secondary immunodeficiency disorders happen when an outside source like a chemical or infection weakens your body. The following can cause a secondary immunodeficiency disorder:
Examples of secondary immunodeficiency disorders include:

    Causes and risk factors

Primary immunodeficiency disorders are most commonly caused by inherited gene mutations.
Secondary immunodeficiency disorders can be caused by a variety of things, including:
    • chronic conditions (like diabetes or cancer)
    • drugs
    • radiation therapy (this is rare)
    • long-term hospitalization
    • insufficient nutrition

Cancer is either up or down during the pandemic. That fact stands true regardless of who says it. So it’s probably better to go to the facts instead going to whatever source.

AIDS became a term when people started coming down with the same symptoms from an unknown cause, that cause turned out to be HIV. Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome wasn't used before that, capitalized or not. It's not a catch all term, it was invented (for lack of a better woes) because of HIV. There is no catch all "acquired immunodeficiency syndrome".

Here is a link about the history of HIV/AIDS.

That chart you posted, the hyperlink for AIDS links to... You guessed it HIV.
They hijacked it. Much like the left loves to do…
No they didn't, see above. It wasn't used before HIV.

Let's just take the progression to it's most likely end without a sane intervention. We could go full totalitarian and weld people's doors shut so no one can leave their homes. Or, in "freer" societies everyone has to wear something like an insulin patch, except it injects vaccine instead of insulin when the monitor detects low antibodies. And not being able to go out in public without a full hazmat suit.
