Basic Prepper Comms for Newbie

So I lucked into a Yaesu FT 857d but it’s memories are empty. If anyone knows how to program this thing with all the interesting channels to listen to…I’ll pay you with money or ammo or whatever

That's a beast of a radio.
It's easier to program with a cable and software you can prob get from yaesu.

Keep in mind if you do not have a lic you can not transmit only listen.

In the Indy area the first repeater I'd program would be the w9ira repeater.

No transmitting just listening. Will probably unplug the mic.

I just want some channels to listen to but I don’t know anything and the software looks even more confusing.

There were some places you could go in Indy they’d upload everything for you.
