Several years ago, one of the biggest ones I've ever seen was under my neighbor's porch. Grabbed my single shot .22 and couple Stingers. Put the muzzle about an inch behind its ear and fired. Hissed at me and bawled up in a corner. Second round was right between the eyes and dropped it. Told my neighbor maybe I should have brought my AR, that was a tough old guy !
One to the vitals, and then: "a good clean finishing shot"

It wasn't "11 round to the face", but it did the job.

(two old INGO references in one post)

Good news is they do not carry rabies

While it's true rabies is pretty rare in some mammals like opossums and squirrels (for various reasons). Any mammal can theoretically contract rabies (3 opossum examples cited above).
