Astronaut Chris Hadfield tackles the subject of whether guns will actually work on the moon. He also has a surprising revelation about guns that have already made it into space. Topic starts at 25 minutes and 56 seconds into the video.

Without reading, the last I heard was that firearm cartridges provide their own propellant so the lack of an atmosphere only leaves gravity to bring a bullet down. Talk about long range!

This reminds me of the interview Bob & Tom had with Dr, David Wolfe. He and the astronauts in the space station would watch the movie Aliens with the new arrivals. One of his quotes that have stayed with me is "You do not know what quiet is until you are on the I.S.S. and the power goes out."

I think he described a drilling when he was talking about the Russian gun. Two shot barrels and one gun barrel. If so that's awesome. You can tell he has virtually no experience with firearms.
