1 - Move the road so it now goes in front of your mailbox.
2 - Plant a tree near the post so it will eventually grow an overhead branch you can use.
3 - Have the post office hold all your mail... forever.
4 - Leave the pole, take the mailbox off the pole, put the mailbox back on the pole pointing in your favorite direction.

Just leave it as is (for now). Come Halloween, the teens in the neighborhood will do their typical vandalism act and inadvertently knock in back into place, thereby relieving you of the work you wanted to avoid in the first place.

Can't you unbolt it, spin it 90, and bolt it in backward? Might have to drill new holes.

I already suggested that (#4 below) and it surprised me he didn't jump all over it.

Look I didn't want to be the one to tell you this but it looks like nobody else will. You are just going to have to move and make sure the new home has a mailbox pointing in the desired direction.
