It's interesting. I just googled it, and it is literally only showing up in UK news sources? US news sources only talk about some delayed flights yesterday connected to a NOTAM outage.

I thought that was weird too. I heard about it on WTHR this morning which is what prompted me to look it up. Apparently the FAA is trying to reboot its computer systems now.

I'm now seeing it in US sources too. Fascinating. It shows up on a local news channel, is then picked up in foreign news citing US news stories, but only later does it finally show up in US national sources.

I wonder what is really going on & what happened.

Someone else already said it: the NOTAM system failed, so vital information regarding airport conditions and such are unavailable to pilots and dispatchers. Checking NOTAMs is a part of your pre-flight duties to ensure a safe arrival at your destination, so without it, no commercial/Part 121 or Part 135 operations. Lots of Part 91 guys fly without checking NOTAMs, but that’s a story for another time… :lmfao:
