It's a pleasure to shoot, and is incredibly accurate. Some think one's crazy for spending high dollars on an air rifle, this thing is worth every last penny...
After buying my 1st air pistol, I was hooked: Weihrauch HW45.
It shot as well as my decent .22LRs, meaning all 5 shots inside a 1.75" circle @ 21'.
I then realized that price mattered, as I suspected since you can buy a pistol or rifle for under $100 or over $1000.
I didn't buy the cheapest, & I wasn't going to spend the big bucks, but I have what I'd call the Toyota Corolla level of air guns.
With your BSA R10, you have a Lexus, ha ha!

If you include the rail, mounts & scope, I have as much in my German Weihrauch HW35 air rifle as I do any of my .22LR rifles.
But admittingly, I have kept my price at or even below $500 for any .22 rifle.
Although, I'm open to getting a Tikka or Bergara if it were "forced" upon me! :lmfao:
The price of ammo led me to explore air guns, which was enhanced me buying 20,000 pellets for
$200, 1.25 cents each if you include gas, haha!
Most tins were of a better quality/accuracy than what I had bought.
I haven't even experimented much with testing out the better pellets yet, but I'm interested to see how it effects the accuracy of the HW 35 rifle.

Nice pistol. Airguns are now legal for deer in Indiana, so long as they meet the criteria…45 cal and up, and at least 400 foot lbs at the muzzle. Air Force puts out a .510 cal producing 800 at the muzzle, bout $1200 give or take

    Took the Diana LP8 Magnum
    &
Weihrauch HW 70 to the range today.
Both use .177 cal/4.5 mm pellets.

10 rounds each target but only 5 rounds on the numbers "7" & "9" on torso at 21'.

Got to shoot the other 2 air pistols today.
    Diana LP8 Magnum & Air Venturi V10, both .177 cal/4.5 mm.
    The Diana LP8 did OK with 90% & 85%.
The Air Venturi V10 did it's usual 100% job.

Finally got the LP8 dialed in & shooting consistently on last 1.75" circle.
Flyers drive me nuts! I always blame how the pellet is seated or the gun! :dunno:
The V10 was w/i the circles 100% with the last circle 1-hole,
which I don't get very often.
    5 rounds each target.

If I was at home & could tell you, but I'm out of state right now.
I always write down the exact name/type & the grain of the pellets I'm using.
It wasn't the H&N Sports pellets I usually use but some pellets from the 20,000 pellets from the estate sale I bought last summer.
If I remember when I'm home toward the end of next week, I'll post it.
Something, maybe like "Storm" but not sure.

Finally got back to the air guns after flirting with .38, .357 & of course, 9mm.
    All my air pistols today.
    I used H&N Sport, 13.75 grain, 5.5mm/.22 cal with the Weihrauch HW45
With the other three, I used H&N Field Target Trophy, 8.64 grain, 4.5mm/.177 cal.

10 rds per target 1st & 2nd row, 5 rds on last row.
I counted the number of rounds in the x ring & 10 ring.

HW45 POI 1.5" high, had to learn to aim low.
By the bottom left, I had 5 rds good placement.

Diana LP8 Magnum POI 2-3" low, had to aim high.
    HW70 POI really low.

Air Venturi V10 (Spain) also POI low.
Bottom right, got it figured out with a good 5 rd placement.

Been a month since I spent time with the air pistols.
I did "function" checks on everything else, which took a month. :rockwoot:
I needed to revisit my other calibers & even my .22LR rifles.

Took 3 air pistols today (4th out getting fiber optics replaced)
    - Weihrauch HW45, 5.5mm/.22 cal. (my favorite air pistol)
    - HW 70, 4.5mm/.177 cal
    - Air Venturi, 4.5mm/.177 cal
    40 pellets each: 120 total.

HW 45 is a spring powered, single-shot, air pistol.
5.5mm/.22 cal., today using H&N Sport pellets, 13.73 grain
    21' on a rest at 1.75" circles
Did a little tweaking with elevation bringing it down 2-3 clicks.
I'm pleased If I can get all 5 rounds inside the 1.75" circles.
    90% & 95%
    Range 6.15.2022 HW45 w8 circles 95% & 90%.jpg
    Weihrauch HW45 pistol.jpg

Weihrauch HW 70 & Air Venturi, both 4.5mm/.177 cal
    80% & 85% for the HW 70 on the 1.75" circles on rows 1 & 2.
On the bottom row is the V10 & is the most accurate consistently.
100% with the Air Venturi V10 from Spain, using a single-stroke pneumatic power plant, very quiet.
Also the most difficult to load b/c of my fingers being too big to fit in the narrow place for inserting a pellet. :wallbash:
I wouldn't put up with it if it wasn't so accurate. :lmfao:
Used H&N Baracuda Match pellets, 10.65 grain.

I had a couple of posts about a Umarex Octane air rifle .22 cal ($250), that I bought in the Spring
    &
    an HW45 .22 cal air pistol ($450).
I didn't want to add a different thread for each air gun, so I'm just going to post future posts about my air gun experiences, pistol or rifle in this one thread.

I bought 3 more air guns this week since last Friday when I picked up the Weihrauch HW45 air pistol.
I picked up 2 more pistols & a rifle this week, a total of 4 air guns since the last Friday to add to the one I bought in the Spring, which will probably be cut when I get around to it.
I hope to go to the range tomorrow to try out the three I bought this week.
All were bought from INGO members.
Price at online stores listed in parenthesis to give you an idea of the range.
You can always find them, if in stock, lower or higher $$.

Diana LP8 Magnum .177 caliber pistol bought Thursday. ($300/Pyramid Air)

Been months since I shot the spring-powered air pistols.
Took 4 to the range today, but only able to shoot 2.

My favorite, the Weihrauch HW 45 (.22 cal), got a pellet stuck in barrel for the 1st time today. :ugh:
The Diana LP8 Magnum (.177 cal) had the sides of the rear sight missing, maybe broken off since gun bag not quite big enough to cover rear sight completely???
Also, that was the air gun I needed to replace the front fiber optic.

Air Venturi V10 (.177 cal) comes out ahead again today, with 90%, shooting against the Weihrauch HW 70.
V10 can do 100% most of the time, I am the weak link, haha!

Just curious, why did the HW stick the pellet in the barrel?
Don't know why pellet stuck.
I was using the same tin of ammo that I used earlier in the week & had used before. :dunno:
It's the only air gun that I have that is .22 cal.
There could be a multiples in the barrel???
I thought I saw a pellet drop out of the front of the barrel, so perhaps when another was shot, it pushed the one in front out???

That is really weird. Have you fired it since the occurrence, or is your bore currently clogged? A spring piston airgun is the last gun in the world I'd expect to get a projectile stuck. Even when the spring breaks, they supposedly still fire, and people can go on shooting them for a while before they even realize it. Double-loading is something you would notice, unless you were using really small-sized pellets (or the Swedish Bikini Team was changing suits in the next firing stall), and if the pellets were sized loose enough to be able to put two in there, I'd expect the gun to just shoot them both on out.

And if the pellet factory dropped a .25 in your tin of .22s, that would be DANG hard to insert in the breech.

I'd be interested to hear the update, when you figure it out.

I pushed a 22LR rod through it & I found 3 pellets that fell out.
Could have been 1-2 more that escaped under something in the garage???

I fire it 3 times in the garage, 2 rounds just fine.
The 3rd round went through 1/3 of the way, which must have been the errant pellet to begin with.

They all loaded up normally, but that errant one must have been what clogged the others up, which is surprising as you say.
Until it starts happening again, I will strike it up to a strange pellet with an attitude, haha!
The bore was nice and rifled and shiny!

I intended to go to the range Wednesday & put it through it's paces but I got hit 9:30 am at the Washington/Sherman intersection in a hit-and-run, so spent the rest of the day unwinding that.
I will again go to Allen (here at INGO), at Diamond Collision, INC to get the work done, like I did last time when the Honda S2000 got a dent.

I'll definitely do a follow up with pictures & music, haha!
