I put another scope on the Weihrauch HW35E air rifle since the Hawke I used last week didn't have an adjustable objective (or should I be saying parallax?), so I couldn't see the target clearly at 25 yds.
This Hawke scope had an adjustable objective (parallax) so I could dial in 25 yds clearly. :rockwoot:

This pic is the last 4 circles (1.75") where I was fine-tuning.
I started out with the POI being 2 feet lower than POA.
Shooting at 25 yds using H&N Sport Field Target Trophy .177 cal/4.5 mm pellets.
    View attachment 177084

Last week's range pic was no worse than this week even with not seeing the target clearly.
Quite a humbling commentary on my shooting skills! :dunno: :wallbash:

Adjustable objectives make a world of difference!

Took all 4 air pistols today, but could only shoot 3.
I read just the other night that you had to retighten the bolts/screws on a spring air rifle periodically b/c of the stout vibration.
The same seems to apply to the pistols as well since on my HW70 the 2 screws holding the safety on worked loose.
I'll get out the blue loctite, which I've had to do on other calibers of regular guns.

I've always liked the Weihrauch HW45 the best; much easier to load with the larger 22cal/5.5mm pellet.
The Air Venturi V10 is the hardest to load if you have larger hands.
With the V10 the pressure is not in "breaking" the barrel, but in returning it to starting position.
The Diana LP8 Magnum is a breeze to load.

With springers, you definitely have to check your screws otherwise you might end op with a cracked stock or grips.

All your groups look good. What pellets are you shooting?

    H&N Sport
    & other H&N
I have other brands but I haven't really tried using them to find which perform best in which gun.
As long as I get all five rounds into my 1.75 inch circles I'm happy, ha ha!
I've used 4 different brands and they've all been good enough to get into the circles, so far.
If I find a brand that doesn't I'll put it on the back shelf.

Had a blast today with all 4 air pistols. :rockwoot:
    Used H&N Sport pellets (.177 & .22).
    I'm happy with the 21'.
I drew a green 1" circle in the middle of each target
But, I could barely see it at 21' & not at all at 30'.

5 rds each target including shooting at the numbers underneath each target as well.
    Range 02.01.2022 21ft only x5 rds.jpg

Below is the same target that I drew 4 green + on the sheet in the bare spots.
I shot 10 rds at each + with each gun.
I think if my eyes were younger I could do tighter groups but I'm not going to put an optic on any of the air guns. :fogey:
I am trying to figure out which to sell, but I like them all.
The Weihrauch H45 (only .22cal/5.5mm I have) is my very favorite! :alright:

Air Venturi V10 continues to score high & beat out the HW45 today for the 1st time.
My favorite, the Weihrauch HW45, had a couple of flyers today.
The Weihrauch HW70 & Diana LP8 Magnum continue to take turns beating each other.

Over a year ago I bought my 1st air gun,
    a Umarex Octane 5.5mm/22cal spring-powered break barrel.
I had been wanting to try out an air gun but didn't know where to start.
I just knew I didn't want to mess with CO2 cartridges.

Pricing for air rifles were all over the place from $100 (or less) to over $1000 (or more).
Someone had this Umarex Octane 5.5mm/.22cal for sale in the Classifieds for $100 with a scope.
Online new they were selling for $250 +/-, so I figured it would be a way to get my feet wet
since the Umarex brand was respectable for a newbie.

Only shot it once back in May 2021, & was not impressed & just put it back in the closet.
Took back out today to shoot it one last time but had a blast with it since I wasn't comparing it to a .22LR & I learned the correct way to loosely hold an air rifle.
    I don't need it since I've got a more accurate German $400 Weihrauch HW35.
I held gun to my shoulder but I did use a bag to rest the forestock.

    Umarex Octane 5.5mm .22cal spring-powered break barrel long view.jpg
    Umarex Octane 5.5mm .22cal spring-powered break barrel closer view.jpg

I used 3.75" circles & it did well, I thought, for $100 air rifle.
    I used H$N Sports 5.5/.22cal pellets.
    25 yds.; 9 or 10 rds per .3.75" targets.

It's been a month since I had the 4 air pistols out to the range.
Air guns prefer certain pellets just like my .22LR guns have ammo preferences.
I wonder if that explains some inconsistencies.
    Used H&N Sport pellets.

Practice rounds with all 4 air pistols.
Weihraugh HW45 didn't outshoot everything today.
It is my only 5.5mm/.22 cal; the rest are 4.5mm/.177 cal.
The Diana LP 8 Magnum started out the best today.
    Range 03.25.2022 21 ft. Practice.jpg

Took me till the 4th target to get all 5 rds in the 1.75" circles with the
    favorite HW45.
The Diana LP 8 Magnum had 1 tight group (top), then not.
Didn't get to put the Air Venturi V10 on this sheet since I was bent on
    getting the HW45 under control.

I actually like my CO2 Diana Chaser pistol, better than my Benjamin Trail or Crosman. The only time CO2 sucks, is if it's cold, but I primarily shoot it indoors (unless it's summer).

    Weihrauch HW45 & HW70 air pistols today.
    21' on rest.
    40 rounds of .177/4.5mm with HW70
    &
    95 rds of .22/5.5mm with HW45.
HW45 shot below par for the 2nd time in a row,
so I spent time adjusting rear sights.
The first 5 rounds were really low but got better with each of the 5 rds?
The gun was in a range bag on a MC with temp outside at 57*.
I wondered if the HW45 was reacting to the cold???

10 rds each circle with HW70 on top row.
5 rds. each circle with HW45 on 2nd row.
    Range 3.30.2022 HW46 HW70 1.75in cirlea.jpg

Puzzled as to the HW45 not shooting normally.
Decided to dial in rear sights again.
On the top row, 3rd circle, I thought I had it perfect.
Then POI high with 2 flyers???
I didn't touch it until the 2nd row, 3rd circle.
I brought the elevation down another click & next 2 circles were fine.
    Range 3.30.2022 dialing in sights.jpg

    Weihrauch HW45 .22/5.5mm break barrel, spring-powered.
Red front fiber optic & green rear optic: nice!

Got to shoot the other 2 air pistols today.
    Diana LP8 Magnum & Air Venturi V10, both .177 cal/4.5 mm.
    The Diana LP8 did OK with 90% & 85%.
The Air Venturi V10 did it's usual 100% job.

Finally got the LP8 dialed in & shooting consistently on last 1.75" circle.
Flyers drive me nuts! I always blame how the pellet is seated or the gun! :dunno:
The V10 was w/i the circles 100% with the last circle 1-hole,
which I don't get very often.
    5 rounds each target.

That seems like a pretty nice pistol, for what they charge for it.

I bought both for $200 each from an older man whose son is a member here.
I bought 5 air guns from him last October.
I didn't know anything about air guns & I wanted to try out a few.
I was going to keep my favorite ones & sell the rest, but I like them all at this point, haha!

    :wow:
Since I don't know much about Air Guns, I had to look it up.
What a wonderful shooting gun!
    Fantastic reviews!
One review talked about how it can compete with the "big boys," but at a better price point, which is still a way above my level.
Apparently, it's not 1, but 3 levels above my Weihrauch H35 that I enjoy, which is just a break-barrel, spring powered air rifle.
