Picked up this old thunderer revolver that's has quite a bit of wear (got a decent deal on it because of said wear), is there any remedy for this? Have already tried some very light sanding and that seemingly did nothing! Any advice is appreciated 16225138223654373233378156945808.jpg 16225138727945770624991843328165.jpg

Looks like nickel plate to me.
Oil the rust spots, wipe it down and wax the nickel plate.
Sand paper is going to do more harm than good.
Same advice if it is chrome for what it’s worth.
Fords Refinishing or a similar company can de-plate/ replate it.
I would leave it as is.

that is not stainless, that is thin chrome over a steel cylinder and a brass frame. nothing you can do. shoot it and call it a relic,
As I looked at it with out my glasses when I posted and yup, that is a chrome/nickel that is pitted and peeling.

Note to self.......never respond with out your glasses.
