    I guess we'll have to start referring to "cosmonomical numbers" or the even-more-unwieldy "universonomical numbers". After all, nobody pays any attention to economics, right?

    Too true. Considering our country has only ever been out of debt once since its conception.

    The United States had a different money system then. It is impossible to be out of debt under the current system.

    If you consider that EVERY bill in circulation has been "borrowed" from the fed reserve and is owed back with interest, there arent enough "bills" in existence to pay off the debt.

    i wish congress would audit the federal reserve and take thier (fed reserve) power and put it back into the peoples hands!! we are slaves to the Fed

    It wasn't out of debt under the original system, the First Bank of the United States, which was quite similar to the current system.
