Hey all! I am looking to add a 9mm pistol to the stable for range fun.

I am not looking to add 1911 in 9mm, another polymer wonder, or a revolver.

I want a steel framed accurate (as I can get for fun) pistol just for fun in the daytime. Something with some heft and soul. This is not likely to ever be carried or used for home defense; so no tac rail, red dots or anything fancy. Nice iron sights, maybe a fiber optic front or big dot is about as custom as I'd go with this one.

So far I like the looks of the Springfield SA-35 but haven't been able to get my paws on one, though I am a fan of the Hi-Power and it's design in general.
I'm also liking the feel of the CZ 75 SP-01 but again have never owned a modern CZ (unless you call the CZ-52 modern - I don't).
    Beretta perhaps?

I'm not tied to a strict budget on this one but I would like to buy new. It's just a personal preference.

What stock pistol would you say fits the criteria?

I can recommend the CZ P10F. It's a great pistol. They have smaller versions also if you don't want a 19+1 rd pistol.

Also a Canik TP9DA or pretty much any Canik this one is 18+1

Also a Taurus G2c is very reliable for the money. This is a old picture sorry about the quality. The magazine beside it is an 18rd P226 Mec-Gar magazine.

Beretta 92FS another quality choice. 15+1 but they have 18rd magazines for them now.

You really can't go wrong with any of the three you mention. Look over each and see which one suits your fancy the most. All of them are kinda wide in the grip area.

I have a Beretta 92X. It holds 17 +1. It has an extra back strap for the grip to help fit your grip as well. It shoots great.

^ Love that P210!!! If money was no object, that's definitely the one I'd get.

Still kind of expensive, but a little more attaonable, check out the Beretta 92X Performance. I got to handle one a few months ago and it is SWEET. Steel frame (not alloy or plastic), nice vertec grip, and excellent sights. You get a lot for your money with that gun, and based on how soft my regular alloy-framed 92FS shoots, I imagine you'd barely feel 9mm out of the 92X Performance.

If you want something a little more budget friendly and like the CZ SP-01 and don’t need a rail why not the 75B?

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Beretta 92s, they just don’t have a natural grip angle for me.

I have shot a few Sig hammer fired pistols and they are fine but I still prefer my CZs

CZ75 variant or any of the plethora of clones/copies. Jericho 941s have a bit more beef in the dust cover giving it a bit of heft and the grip shape fits my hand like a dream. My cajunized P01 is my go-to for about everything, EDC and matches from Bullseye to steel and USPSA. I also have a Kadet .22 conversion for it that'll pick wings off a fly.

Not that the other guns mentioned here are bad but...

My favorite non 1911 platform is the Beretta 92FS. I also had a Smith & Wesson 5906. Solid pistol, surprisingly accurate, completely reliable.

If you want a range toy CZ , get what the Shadow 2 wants to be when it grows up a Tactical Sport Orange. 20+1 from the factory with 24+1 possible with extensions , fantastic target sights and a literal one pound single action trigger pull. Also if anyone gets any of the references in this picture we can be friends

Pretty much any of the CZ 75 series with Cajun Gun Works parts added (CGW). I'm partial to the compact myself:

The P-01 is nice as well:

Of course a shiny 75B is also nice:

Another good choice would be a Sig P226 or P229. This P229 I bought used and added the SRT, sights and new grips. It's a .40 with a .357 sig barrel, but is also a fantastic shooter in 9mm:

The nicest Sig P226 I ever shot was my Legion SAO model. Very nice...

I would probably go with a CZ Shadow 2 or TS2 . Also the Sig P210. I have a P226 Elite that shoots very well but does not meet your steel frame requirement.
