It's out there, you just have to keep checking different online sources frequently. MidwayUSA and Brownells are my two primary sources and there are a lot of others. Also check the IMR/Hodgdon site as they will offer it for sale as well.Is there anywhere online or otherwise that I can get H4895 or IMR 4895? I've spent so much time looking, and it's always out of stock, EVERYWHERE.
What is happening? Did Hodgden and IMR go out of business?
And remember, they do not interchange exactly. It's out there, you just have to keep checking different online sources frequently. MidwayUSA and Brownells are my two primary sources and there are a lot of others. Also check the IMR/Hodgdon site as they will offer it for sale as well.
I always thought that was one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen too. I wonder how many new reloaders have mistakenly used a powder that they thought was correct because it was named so similarly to a different powder. And remember, they do not interchange exactly.
I'm curious what you're building with it? I'd have to go out to the garage and check my recipe book, but IIRC I only use IMR 4895 for heavy pill LR stuff. .308 & .30-06 work.Is there anywhere online or otherwise that I can get H4895 or IMR 4895? I have not seen H4895 in a long time. IMR4895 was frequently available at MidwayUSA a few months ago when I was actively powder shopping.I haven’t seen a single grain of H4895 for sale since Brian’s Surplus got that giant powder order either last fall (I think). It’s the only powder I’m short of and I could use an 8# or two to be comfortable.
If I come across any, I’ll let you know after I buy what I need
Same here...I’ve seen IMR4895, but no H4895. I’ve tested both in my M1A’s and get markedly better results with H...also my ‘match’ Garand load for my Krieger barreled CMP rifle is 46.5grs H4895 over 155Nosler CC in a military case...and I shoot quite a bit of that load too.I have not seen H4895 in a long time. Yeah, I want to bring in my 308 groups at greater distance, and improve my M1A groups with iron sights.I'm curious what you're building with it? I'd have to go out to the garage and check my recipe book, but IIRC I only use IMR 4895 for heavy pill LR stuff. .308 & .30-06 work.
Nice catch there mcapo.Won’t last long. 1#s in stock.
Hodgdon H4895 Smokeless Gun Powder
Popular for decades, Hodgdon H4895 smokeless rifle powder is known for extreme temperature insensitivity. Shop Powder Valley for 1lb canisters and 8lb jugs.www.powdervalleyinc.com
I’ve actually got the last 5 in my cart, but I’m going to let them go because there’s literally nothing left in stock that I want/need other than the powder. I’m sitting on enough right now and don’t ‘need’ them so will let someone else grab them. One left at Powder Valley.
