Can a mod change the title, please? It's not representative of the facts and has been declared so a few times in this thread. Else things like this will occur:

This list of gun purchases is very impressive...lots of folks doing the right thing ! Thanks for sharing this info.

    Dumbest. Thing. Ever.

We all volunteered to be finger printed and begged the FBI and ISP conduct background checks on us, and agree to be citizens of good character and reputation (which is so vague that pretty much means we're all Boy Scouts), but we still need to fill out a form that says we're not illegals, straw buyers, or currently on drugs if we want to buy something.
They actually do an additional background check in Ohio if you haven’t been a resident for the past five years. This carries an additional fee. I think my five-year license was $77. Oh, and the $125 training course… And the $40 or so worth of ammo I shot to complete it…

This is how many guns were sold in each state in March:

No, please understand that it is the number of background checks. Many states exempt carry license holders.

And several states, including Illinois, conduct monthly NICS checks on carry license holders thus inflating their numbers.

The number of guns sold is far, far greater than the number of checks: states with exemptions, transactions with multiple firearms, etc.

Do you know off hand how many states do not require a NICS check for permit holders besides Ohio?

This was easier to find than I expected, but appears outdated if Ohio is now on the list. Looks like at least 4, counting Ohio.

Also looks like there may be a line between pistols and long guns as far as what your permit gets you?

The IL number is unreal. Some people may doubt the published number. But even if it’s 50% off that is still 700,000 guns and would still rank #1 in sales. Just amazing given IL’s stance against the 2A; especially that idiot mayor of Chiraq. How many straw sales to gangbangers should be it’s own category. LOL!

Umm, this was posted in post #27. 25 states do not have to do NCIS checks on permit holders.

And dad, you also liked post #27. LOL!

IL runs background checks for ammo too...

I think this is all good news...it means people are finally starting to see that the government really only cares about you as a taxpayer and not a citizen. I hope this will lea to people shaking off what's been an increasingly oppressive government system. Maybe I'm too optimistic....
    No.
A FOID card is required to buy ammo in Illinois if you are are a resident not a full blown background check

Put this into prospective, all most 2.5 million people voted for Trump in Illinois, that’s 400k shy of all the people that voted in Indiana.

Another interesting election fact the most votes cast in a state for Biden and Trump is the same state. California is the largest republican and democrat state at the same time

^I'll take reasons why the electoral college shouldn't be abolished for $1,000,000 Alex.

Just to be clear, you are say that the number of guns sold is far greater than the background check number that NSSF says is inflated by double?
