Do you have any links to explain what Rimfire challenge is? Never seen a match or know anyone that shoots it. Does it have to be a mag fed rifle?

Edit: nevermind I think I found it. Looks to be a variation of steel challenge style match. Now I understand the mag fed. I thought it was a precision style shooting. I may have to check this out.

Very similar to Steel Challenge. Differences:

    1. No fixed stage setups.
    2. Targets per stage vary from 5 to 7.
    3. .22lr only
    4. You need both a rifle and pistol to compete. Scores are added together for the two guns for your final score.

Since you shoot 5 strings (attempts) on each stage having five mags for your gun moves things along. You could shoot with a revolver, like a S&W 617 using speed loaders.

Always found it odd that a match catering to new shooters requires 2 guns to compete. Not putting it down just think its odd. Heard they were looking for a range to hold their Nationals at.

It was started by a gun manufacturer (Ruger), at least Ruger was the original sponsor. A whole bunch of Mark pistols and 10/22s are sold for use in the Rimfire games. I've got 2 Mark IVs and a 10/22 myself.
