Went into purchase with eyes wide open.
    V-life refuses to adjust.
    "Trijicon SRO"copy isn't. (And won't adjust windage)
No-name China is dim- like unusable dim.
Wanted to see how cheep I could go-found out. NONE of the sights "rode the slide"-so that's not it. Don't buy any of these 3 and expect different results. I had hopes for the 80 buck "trijicon SRO": Thinking maybe they broke into the factory and stole some parts...nope junk.
    What DOES work?
    Vortex venom or viper
    Trijicon RMR + SRO
    Burris Fastfire(any model)
Seems like >220$ gets you reliability.
    YMMV

What are the purposes for the device? That's usually my first question.

I've heard reliable reports of Bushnell TRS-25 "$50" red dots being issued on LEO patrol rifles and actually surviving training classes.

If said device will be on a range toy - then, by all means, "cheap out" if you want to.

If a carry gun / patrol gun / home defense gun - keep in mind that lives may depend on it. When lives may literally be on the line - that is not the time nor place to "cheap out.".

But most government items are the lowest bid!!! Costly cheap
At least they require certain specs to be attained. And for the products I have sold to .gov over the years, they are pretty stringent specs at that. You make up with the low cost by selling high volume. Very high volume! :)

As far as knock offs. No thanks. I work too hard for my money.

They were just for plinking 22's . Me? I'm a trijicon guy. I've heard holosun is coming out with a fast acquisition 32mm ring and dot, but they are kinda like unicorns.
I shot a match this weekend with a vortex venom- performed flawlessly.

Vortex venom is good to go and about as inexpensive as you're going to buy quality. I have my issues with Trijicon and I'll never buy another of their products but that's just me. Knowing what application you plan on using it on would be a help.
I've had good luck with less expensive setup on a Taurus TX-22 but heavier recoil might be an issue. PM me if you want more info.
