Ran an older SW 422 (from around mid 1980s - early 1990s) of Zachcz's at the range today.
We both have had 4" barrels in the past, but he picked up a 6" barrel recently.
I love shooting other's guns, although it comes back to bite me sometimes b/c I have to get one! :dunno:
It was a fun range day shooting 120 rounds of CCI Blazer (38 gr; 1235 FPS; lead round nose).
I had my SW 41 with me but didn't even get it out since it had just been cleaned.
The SW 22A Talo ed shot so well I thought I'd give the 41 a break today. :lmfao:

Also ran a SW Victory (w/scope) & SW 22A Talo edition (w/red dot).
SW 422 only had iron sights, which is why with my eyes, it got edged out.

    30' X ring & 10 ring combined:
1st with all 10 rds = SW 22A Talo ed.
    2nd with 9 rds = SW Victory
    3rd with 8 rds = SW 422

    1st Place @ 100% = SW 22A Talo ed.
    2nd Place @ 90% = SW Victory
    3rd Place @ 70% & 75% = SW 422

I am going to have to go to range to redeem its honor. It’s not fair you shoot my stuff with your eyes closed!

Is this the thread I should post my security footage from the property damage hit and run?

Yes, & include pics of my bumper w/o even a dirt smudge anywhere on my bumper from the alleged touching of your mailbox when I backed up today. :lmfao:

Been out of town for nearly 2 weeks & glad to get back to the range.
Only took 3 semi-autos 22LR today for only 140 rounds.

Didn't take pics of the SW 22A-1 or SW Victory, both with optics.
Spent most of the time adjusting sights since the AR Tactical ammo shot higher than whatever I ran through the last time (Armscor I think).

This is for a Beretta M9-22 that is a favorite no optic plinker.
Typically, there were no failures with the 70 rds put through today.
Couldn't keep all the rounds in the 1.75" circles at 21' even on a rest with just iron sights.
Last circle on the right was free hand which was a reality check.

Picked up another SW 422 from a member:
    - 6 in barrel
    - 2 mags
    - threaded barrel adapter & barrel nut
    - produced around 1990
I've had one before & it was one of those guns I wished I'd kept.
A pleasure to shoot b/c of its accuracy & it is a SW, so I couldn't help myself.

Using CCI AR Tactical, 40 grain, 1200 FPS, copper round nose.
    21" on a rest at 3.75" circles.
Groups got better with each target as I got used to the gun.

Got to dial-in a Ruger LCP 2 .22LR with a Green Ruger Gripssense Laser on it.
Had a blast running 160 rounds through it using Federal Automatch & Remington Thunderbolts.
Groups probably would have been better if I'd used better ammo.
I think it would have shot better for me but the trigger wasn't as smooth as I've gotten used to.

21' with the green inner circle being 2.75"
I was still tweaking the adjustments a bit.
The two "+" in the middle that I drew was the best I could shoot.
    10 rounds each target.

I just had to try out the 3.75" circles to finish up.

    Sig P250-22 DAO w/hammer.
I bought this yesterday from a member.
Another member knew I was looking for one & gave me a heads-up this was in the Classifieds.
I previously had one & sold it back in 2018 & always regretted it.
The DAO with a hammer makes for good trigger practice.
The past year I've found myself buying several guns that I'd previously owned & wish I'd kept.

Got to try out a member's Walther PPQ, 5" barrel, but I measured 4.5"?
180 rounds with a little but of elevation adjustment.

Didn't even know Walther made a PPQ 22lr! Too bad it is not optics ready , would be something I might consider as it might be a while before the Sig P322 is readily available.

It has been a fun plinker for me. Has a great trigger and sight system and it just looks good unlike a lot of polymer 22s imo. It was one I wanted for a long time but never saw one available locally except once and it was way over priced. I kinda forgot about it then Was able to pick it up a few weeks ago. Now the hard part is trying to get doddg to give it back!

It’s well documented I’m a huge fan of the tx22. This has been on par with them as far as reliability and shoot-ability but exceeds it in ergos, looks, and brand reputation. Mags hold 12 instead of the normal 10 so that’s a plus as well. Just not quite to the tx level of 16 or the 20 of the new sig.

Range report on sig 322 and a couple other plinker. Walther ppq and beretta m9

All info is in pic but extremely happy with the sig. 1.7 inch group from about ten yards first ten rounds fired from it and tightened up from there. About 100-120 rds through it flawlessly.

Thanks for the range report! How would you rate the trigger on the P322? Looks like a good shooter for the first time out. It is definitely the next gun on my TO BUY list!

It’s up there with tx22 if not better. I do like the flat face. It’s definitely a gun to buy imo.

Went back and shot more. Getting groups down to 1.03” from ten yards.

I may be selling a few 22s thst this is replacing

Spent more time with 2 guns I like & not b/c of accuracy, but just fun:
    - Sig 250-22
    - Beretta M9-22

Torso & top tow on the bottom were was the Sig 250-22 DAO.
Great for trigger practice being a DAO, but can't keep up with the S/A on the Beretta.
Head & last row on the bottom was the Beretta M9-22.
Nice full size imitation of the M9.

Used Federal AutoMatch @ 21" on a rest.
Beretta M9-22 edges out in 1.5" silhouette measurements with 70% vs Sig 250-22 60%.
Beretta beats Sig on the bottom two rows on rounds hitting the red center 47% vs 33%.

I agree, take a few .22's for fun. I usually take a Ruger MK 4 Target and a Ruger single 10 along with my EDC shield Plus PC. After a few mags through the EDC to remind myself of its funtions its off to the plate rack with the .22's. lots of fun and so much more economical.

    Revolver fun day.
I'm in trim mode & trying to decide which revolvers to let go, but I love them all at this point.
In trim mode once, I cut every revolver except the Dan Wesson, but........
Today, I used Federal Automatch ammo: 40 grain, LSN, 1200 FPS.

This started out really shooting low today 2-3" at first with the head shots.
The first circle on the next to the last row on the bottom was really off b/c I was looking through the wrong lens with the bi-focal shooting glasses I use, haha!
Finally got it around at the end but kept playing with the elevation.

Kept having to adjust elevation up since POI was low.
Switched to 30' on the last row.

Love this gun: DA so smooth I can shoot as well (today a hair better) as in SA.
That's a commentary on my shooting & not the gun, haha!
An optic would really tighten up these groups.

DA revolver shooting is a discipline few shooters today become proficient at. Nice to see that you fired the BIG Dan Wesson better in DA. I have fired my pair of 617s in DA a few times. The older version most likely had the springs replaced as it is noticeably lighter.

I imagine an optic equipped Dan Wesson would be capable of "one hole" groups at quite an impressive distance.

I had an old nickel HR revolver I picked up for $200 (back in the "good ole days, haha!), with a D/A pull of 50# (just kidding).
It was unbelievably difficult trigger pull!
But, I actually was able to shoot it more accurately than in S/A which I still don't understand.
It certainly made me focus, haha!

I recently bought a Sig Sauer 250-22 since I had one 2 yrs ago & regretted selling it.
It is DAO & though it isn't as accurate as most 22 handguns I have, I just really enjoy the DAO practice.

Yes, the Dan Wesson capable of more than what I can get from it with my eyes.
With my tri-focals, the target or rear sight is out of focus: my choice, haha!
It really depends on the color of the target whether I can pick up the bullseye or not.

Regretfully, I sold two .22LR revolvers last weekend, so I consoled myself today with shooting
    4 semi-auto .22LR.
Since I used a different ammo today, I had to adjust the ones with optics & change my POA on the 422 with fixed sights.

Shooting a 1.75" circles at 21' for SW 422 non-optic & 30' for SW Victory with a scope & red dots with other two.
Sent 200 rounds downrange of Federal AutoMatch, 1200 FPS, 36 grain, SLN.
Fine-tuned the optics for this ammo.

    SW 422 6" barrel, produced 1987-1996.
I have no idea why I enjoy shooting this gun soooo much, but Aeroflyer tried to teach me to keep guns I enjoyed shooting, not just the most accurate.
It took me about 4 years to learn that.
With fixed sights the POI was 1-1.5" low.
Finally, by the 4th circle, I got POI to suit me.
    Range 5.31.2022 SW 422 21ft x4 circles.jpg

I regretted selling the 422 with a 4" barrel & adjustable rear sights, so I was glad when Zachcz let me buy his 6" barrel back in March of this year.
He is the one who got me onto these SW 422 hidden jewels.
    5.31.2022 SW 422 pic at range.jpg

    SW Victory w/Nikon scope, 30'.
Didn't shoot as well as the others I shot today, which is why I always always end up trimming them, but I like an all-metal gun.
I'll put a red dot on it to see if I can tighten up the groups.

Went to range yesterday to put 2 guns through their paces one last time since I'm going to sell them.
Hard to do after selling 2 last weekend.
Trimming the safe of .22LR is not fun, & many times when I do I end up buying that type of gun again as is the case with these two I'm selling this weekend.

    SW Victory (had 4-5 of them) & a Sig P250-22 (my 2nd, although I did have a P226-22 earlier).
